The wake for the San Mateo Times is still taking place on Tuesday (Nov. 1) even though BANG has changed its mind and will continue to use the “Times” nameplate. Back in August, BANG said it was dropping the Times flag and the paper’s subscribers and single-copy buyers would get the San Jose Mercury News starting Nov. 2. The wake is planned from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Murf’s Broadway Cocktail Lounge, 700 Winslow at Marshall, Redwood City. About 40 Times people are expected.
